Poison Unit
The units introduce its services 24 h
a day under supervision of efficient, specialized and
qualified medical staff.
- The Unit Manages The Following Hazards

insecticides either by
ingestion or inhalation
- How to Protect Our Kids from Toxins
- Put the drugs or any other chemicals in their
original bottles not in other containers of ordinary foods or drinks.
- Keep all chemicals in a specific place away from
reach of hands of kids.
- Don’t use soda ( KOH ) in home because it may
cause harmful effects that last for the whole life.
- Don’t put any insecticide or Kerosene
( alone or mixed with hair oil ) on baby's hair as they are easily
absorbed from the scalp hair.
- Don’t put any food on the stove unattended
( to prevent suffocation with Carbon Mono – Oxide ).
- First Aid for
Toxic Cases
- Don’t use Salt and water for
induction of vomiting.
- Don’t induce vomiting in comatosed child.
- As soon as possible take your child to the hospital
in conjunction with the empty pack for your child and doctor help.
- In case of swallowing of chemicals
( chlorine or strong acid e.g. sulphoric acid ) only ask the child
to drink a glass of milk or water if there is no heamatemesis and
the child is able to swallow.
- Don’t induce vomiting in case of chlorine , Koh ,
just take off his wears, wash his body , head with soap and water several times.
- If the child is exposed to a bite , hold the bitted place ,
don’t move or such the lesion , but just skip water with soap on it.
