Education Towards A Healthy Liver
Ganzouri Specialized Hospital mission is to promote healthy life & awareness about the major health problems in Egypt.
Chronic liver disease stands on the top of the list as a major health problem among Egyptian with increased morbidity and mortality. Chronic liver diseases are caused mainly by Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV). More than (20%) of Egyptians are suffering from some forms of chronic liver disorders and approximately (14%) of them are due to Hepatitis (C) virus infection .An estimated 10 million individuals are infected with (HCV) and about (2-7%) are due to chronic Hepatitis (B) virus infection.
Hepatitis infection is not only a health issue but rather an economic and psychosocial problem .So, our goal is to screen individuals and offer guidance in reducing complications for any patient suffering from chronic liver disease. So; Ganzouri Specialized Hospital will provide a program to address this problem. This program has a concise approach to evaluating such patients and determining the need for Medical Treatment, life style adjustments, vaccination, and behavior modification
N.B:
We integrated our efforts with other eminent pharmaceutical companies in the region to build a wide program for Liver Problems namely: (Schering Plough & Galaxo Smith Klien).

The program is managed and run by :

Prof. Internal Medicine, Mansoura University / Consultant Gastroenterology , Hepatology & Endoscopy. ( Fellow of Pittsburgh University
, USA & Kyoto University , Japan ) & a member of Ganzouri Hospital medical group.
Program Contents :
- Seminar to build awareness about the problem of liver diseases in Egypt.
- Screening program to identify people at risk (It will be done under complete privacy).
- Management of the problems. Antiviral treatment for viral Hepatitis (ABV& HCV) should be
applied only to patients who meet the standard inclusion criteria . Alternative options are indicated
when antiviral are ineffective, intolerable, contraindicated or unreachable.
